Famous British television baking competition produced by Love Productions is set to release their annual Christmas Cookery Special this year; and it will reportedly feature the regal and beautiful Duchess of Cambridge, our style icon – Kate Middleton. Just a few weeks ago, the fabulous Duchess had reportedly attended a private meeting with the executives of giant British television network, BBC; and it’s about a “secret TV project”. According to the Mirror, famous British food writer and culinary expert Mary Berry, who is a cherished member of the Great British Bake Off is collaborating with Her Royal Majesty Kate in a charity project dedicated for charity workers who are on duty over Christmas and New Year’s day. Sources say that the BBC Christmas special is set to generate a rewarding feast that will not only spread some Christmas cheer but also bring seasonal goodwill to everyone; especially to the millions of televiewers.
The Great British Bake Off is a reality baking show that features amateur bakers competing against each other in a series of rounds with a goal to impress the panel of judges in each set. Its first ever episode was released in August 2010. The television series created a rise in the sales of baking ingredients and materials throughout the United Kingdom and Ireland due to its widespread popularity. The show is known to support charity causes such as “Stand Up to Cancer”, BBC’s “Sport Relief” and “Comic Relief”, as well as “Junior Bake Off”.
The show has received numerous awards and nominations including the BAFTA TV Awards in 2012 and the National Television Awards from 2015 to 2017. From just over 2 million viewers, the renowned reality TV show has risen to a peak of 16.03 million viewers at its season finale in 2016 – amassing nine out of ten of the most-watched programmes of that year. The UK version of The Great British Bake Off is aired in many other countries worldwide including the United States, Thailand, Italy, Germany, among others.
