In case you haven’t heard, the multi-awarded Fil-Am R&B singer and songwriter Jay R proposed to his long time beau, co-singer and songwriter Mica Javier last year. Mica is the niece of famous APO Hiking Society member Danny Javier. In a recent interview with Mica, she revealed that she and her fiancé are set to exchange “I dos” this coming summer in a beach wedding to be held in the Philippines. The bride-chilla also shared that they are almost done with the wedding preps, which she described as “an easy process” as they started planning early. She added, “I’m just very excited. Sobrang chill lang namin ni Jay R, pa-simple lang kami pero sa totoong buhay marami nang nangyayari to fix and finalize kung ano ang gagawin namin.” The couple are both hands-on in their wedding preps. They always exchange ideas prior to execution to ensure that each wedding detail would satisfy their liking.
It’s been a year since Jay R personally announced on his Instagram account that he and Mica are engaged. He posted a photo of himself and his beautiful fiancé wearing an engagement ring and captioned it, “Meet my fiancée.” Friends and family including fellow R&B singer Kris Lawrence, celebrity couple Billy Crawford and Coleen Garcia, as well as Maxene Magalona and Rob Mananquil were present during the momentous occasion.
Jay R’s career in singing began in 2003 when he released his platinum certified debut album “Gameface” under Universal Records. His hit single, “Bakit Pa Ba”, immediately made rounds in radios and televisions around the Philippines; thus its numerous awards. From then on, Jay R was dubbed as the “R&B Prince”. After only three years, Jay R built a home recording studio and later on a record label in his mansion. His biggest break was in 2008 for his masterpiece “Soul in Love”. Apart from singing, the handsome Fil-Am performer also hosted GMA 7’s noon time variety show “Party Pilipinas” as well as dating game show “Take Me Out”.
Mica, on the other hand, started her career as a print and commercial model during her late teenage years. Among her endorsement campaigns are Colgate, Nestea Iced Tea, Whisper, Red Mobile, and Pizza Hut. She also appeared at the second season episode of famous American series “Gossip Girl” as well as in “How To make It In America’s” final season.
