Popular k-pop cutie Ong Seong-wu is coming to Manila next year to meet his Pinoy fans. The former member of Korean boy group “Wanna One” wishes to return to Manila for a fan meet this February 25, 2020 at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City. If the event pushes through, it will be the third time that Ong will visit the country. His first visit was in 2017 while the second was in 2018 with his former boy band, “Wanna One”.
Ong Seong-wu is a k-pop actor and singer. He rose to stardom in 2017 after placing fifth in the second season of reality competition survival show “Produce 101” where he garnered a total of 984,756 votes. He joined the group “Wanna One” which in turn disbanded just this year. Even though his contract with “Wanna One” ended in the last day of December 2018, Ong still appeared at the official farewell concert of “Wanna One” last January 24-27, 2019. After which, he decided to pursue a career in acting; thus his debut drama television series “At Eighteen” together with Korean stars Kim Hyang-gi and Shin Seung-ho.
Born in Incheon, South Korea, Ong is a natural performer as he finished a degree in Performing Arts in Dong Seoul University. He took part in “Short Film Project: Beginning” titled “Seong-wu Is Alright”. The film was released last June 19, 2017. After a while, he was featured as special guest in mobile drama, “Idol Fever”, which aired between July 7 to July 17, 2017.
After parting ways with “Wanna One”, Ong embarked in his first fan meet tour as a solo artist covering three cities from March to April 2019. The tour was called “Eternity” and could be considered an immense success. He was also recognized as the PR Ambassador of the Incheon Metropolitan City Office of Education since March 7, 2019. He released his hit single “Heart Sign” in partnership with Pepsi and Starship Entertainment last June.
