Perhaps 2015 was the year for Pia Wurtzbach when she was crowned Miss Universe at the biggest and most talked about beauty pageant in the world (universe, rather). Being the third Filipina who won the title after forty two years, Pia was dubbed by fans and netizens as “Queen P”. All of these wouldn’t be possible if she didn’t have the grit to re-compete at Binibining Pilipinas for the third time in 2015. Indeed, Queen P isn’t just a pretty face. In fact, she has served as UNAIDS Goodwill Ambassador for Asia and the Pacific since 2016.
Born in Germany, Pia is actually half German but was raised in the southern islands of the Philippines – Mindanao. At an early age of nine, her parents separated. This urged Pia to pursue a career in modelling and acting after finishing a course in culinary arts. In fact, she started acting at a tender age of four for the Filipino drama series “It Might be You”. She also portrayed the role of young Chari at Star Cinema’s movie “Kung Ako na Lang Sana” in 2003. In 2017, she released her first lead role in an action comedy superhero film with famous comedian Vice Ganda: “Gandarrapido!: The Revenger Squad” to which she was awarded “New Movie Actress of the Year” at the 34th PMPC Star Awards for Movies.
Today, Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach is a professional model, brand endorser, actress, host and TV personality. Indeed, she has gone a long way. Upon turning thirty years old just a few days ago, Pia shares the fruits of her hard work in social media. The beauty queen is finally moving in to her brand new condominium unit at Century Properties in the Philippines. Pia shared her excitement by posting photos on social media from planning, construction, and moving in. Her beautiful abode was elegantly designed by Heim interiors with a mid century modern theme.
