In 2017, Maja Salvador conquered the hearts of many as she demonstrated her powerful acting prowess on screen as she portrayed the character of Ivy Aguas a.k.a. Lily Cruz in her drama television series “The Wildflower”. Together with other famous celebrities, the show made its rounds on social media as it trended for such a long time. It was one of the most talked about telenovelas ever since it debuted in local television. It bagged numerous prestigious awards and nominations since 2017 both in the local and international stage. In fact, Maja has been bestowed “Best Actress in a Leading Role (National)” award at the Asian Academy Creative Awards; and “Best Actress” award at the 5th Urduja Film Festival Heritage Films Awards last year.
“The Wildflower” also holds the title of being the one and only Filipino drama television series to be nominated in the First Asia Contents Awards in South Korea. The phenomenal show was nominated as “Best Asian Drama”, competing with several Asian television series from various countries such as Japan, China, Taiwan, South Korea, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam, Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia, and Brunei. Despite its ending last year, the show still continues to air in other countries such as Polynesia, Reunion, and New Caledonia due to a partnership between ABS-CBN and Ampersand Fiction.
The Asia Contents Awards will be held on the 6th of October this year at the Busan Cinema Center in South Korea. It will be followed by a red carpet treatment for its honored guests. Its goal is to recognize finest and outstanding series on television across the whole of Asia produced over the past five years. The Asia Contents Awards hopes to be recognized internationally as a significant event in the television series industry in Asia and eventually in the whole wide world.
