Thirty one year old actress Glaiza de Castro is a multi-awarded actress who has played several roles in both GMA Network and ABS-CBN. Among her famous stints are “Encantadia” in 2016, “Stairway to Heaven”, and “The Rich Man’s Daughter”. Just recently, she has been nominated for her amazing performance in her Cinemalaya movie “Liway”, to which she has already won “Best actress” thrice during the 3rd GEMS Awards, Platinum Stallion Media Awards, and Alta Media Icon Awards.
Just recently, Glaiza had another nomination for “Liway”; this time at the 37th Film Academy of the Philippines Luna Awards. She gladly accepted the nomination with her dashing foreign boyfriend, David Rainey. She shared that her thirty year old beau is from Belfast, Ireland; and runs a coffee business in his country. He is currently in the Philippines to spend time with Glaiza for two months. Glaiza, in turn, has already been to the UK to meet David’s family as she has been completing a course in music production at the Point Blank Music School in London.
Glaiza fondly revealed that she never imagined herself dating a foreigner, “Sabi nga ng nanay ko, sa dinami dami ng tao sa mundo kami pa talaga, pinagtagpo kami, sa layo ng Ireland sa Pilipinas. We’re from the opposite sides of the world. Meron talaga eh, di mo masasabi.” The multitalented actress also shared that they have no plans yet of settling down but her fingers are crossed wishing that David might be “the one”. “Sana nga, sana Lord!,” she exclaimed.
David and Glaiza met in the island of Siargao last year as the former loves to surf and the latter is learning how to surf. The two were both staying the same hotel whilst in the island. One day, one of Glaiza’s favorite songs was being played in the hotel’s common area which immediately caught her attention. She asked the staff, “Sino nagpapatugtog nito?” It so happens that it was David. The song was Primal Scream’s Loaded.
The actress also shared that she’s learning a lot from him and their relationship. “I’m the kind of person who has the tendency to overthink. I learned from him not to dwell on things and to balance your life. Now, nakakadanas ako ng busy-ness which is good. But, sometimes, I get stressed over that but he always says, you need to learn how to relax and enjoy the little things. During times when I get stressed out, he makes me realize to think of people who are going through tougher times than me. That’s why I’m really happy that there’s someone who reminds me that. And he motivates me to wake up early, go out and enjoy the fresh air,” said Glaiza.
