Our very own Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray had her first ever visit and safari adventure in South Africa. The beauty queen was in South Africa for the Miss South Africa 2019 pageant where she met Miss Universe 2017 Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters and Miss Universe South Africa 2018 for the said event. Catriona Gray enjoyed her epic adventure in Africa at the Legend Golf & Safari Resort as she had close encounters with wild animals like the family of lions which she shared through her Instagram post saying, “So, I was praying to see lions up close and heard in my spirit just to wait. So I was sitting there, fifteen minutes passed by and I was just thinking about how creative God is to create all these animals and scenery. And suddenly we turn a bend and there is a family of lions walking right in front of us.”
The Miss Universe 2018 also shared how precious nature was and how she got emotional upon seeing and hearing the story of baby rhinos.
“Unique personalities, the need to be loved and cuddled and a goofy sense of humor – up until today I didn’t realise these descriptions could be used to describe baby rhinos.” She wrote on her Instagram post and learned that these baby rhinos are already orphans. “As a consequence they come to this facility incredibly distressed, calling out for their mothers and sometimes eating sand out of stress.” The beauty queen showed her support by raising awareness towards the “The Rhino Orphanage”, a volunteer group made to gain support by donating to their projects.
And who says we can’t be fashionable while having an epic adventure in the wild? Catriona proved that once a queen, always a queen with her notable chic outfit while having the adventure that has captured the heart of the world — ah wait, the universe rather, mixing earth tones outfit with her white wrap tunic paired with olive pants and a pair of boots.
South Africa and Catriona never go out of style, don’t they? To more queen adventures!
