Perhaps 2015 was the year for Pia Wurtzbach when she was crowned Miss Universe at the biggest and most talked about beauty pageant in the world (universe, rather). Being the third Filipina who won the title after forty two years, Pia was dubbed by fans and netizens as “Queen P”. All of these wouldn’t be possible if she didn’t have the grit to re-compete at Binibining Pilipinas for the third time in 2015. Indeed, Queen P isn’t just a pretty face. In fact, she has served as UNAIDS Goodwill Ambassador for Asia and the Pacific since 2016.
Queen P recently started vlogging on YouTube. Her self-titled channel’s first video was a teaser for her debut in the world renowned social media platform; and was uploaded just over a month ago. The first full episode was launched last September 1st. A few weeks ago, Pia uploaded Part 3 of her Bangkok vlog. In the video, she honesty admitted feeling emotionally down as she woke up with a heavy heart whilst in Thailand.
In her own words, “Gusto kong maging honest. There are days na hindi ako okay. Na paggising ko, parang ang bigat nung gabi. May dinala akong bigat from kagabi, ‘tapos dinala ko today, or dinala ko sa paggising ko.” The beauty queen stated that her complicated life makes it difficult to find true friends. Likewise, despite her bubbly personality, there are days when everything simply isn’t “okay”. Pia continued, “Hindi naman sa may masamang nangyari. You just get reminded of the things that are not working so well at the moment. It’s not that I have enemies, it’s more of… it’s a very complicated life that I live in. Because you don’t really know who your true friends are. Or you think you do, but then it turns out they’re not,” Queen P reminded her viewers that it’s alright to not be okay and she believes that God will help her make it through whatever “darkness” she may be going through at the moment. She said, “I pray na sana ma-let go ko yung feeling na yun. Sana mawala siya. Sana mabura siya, then I can continue on with the day happy, happy again.”
