OK. So. First thing’s first. What are lipsticks, lip glosses, and lip balms and are they the same thing? OK, well we’re going to give it to you straight. As much as you thought they sounded like synonyms all this time, lipsticks, lip glosses, and lip balms are completely different things. Weird, right? But hey, the world of makeup will continue to surprise us everyday and this is not the end.

So, what exactly makes them different? Now that’s an interesting inquisitive question to which we have incredibly simple answers to, because we really don’t want you to get even more confused. You’re searching for answers — not more questions.

To start off the differentiating, we put lipsticks first — one of the most known makeup tools in the world. Literally everybody knows this and that even includes one year old babies on their strollers (we might be exaggerating a bit there, but hey it could be true). Lipsticks apparently stay more rather than any other lip product and they have more color and coverage on your lip.

Lip glosses are more of a liquid type compared to lipsticks and unlike lipsticks, they don’t stay as long as expected, but it does make sure your lips looks shinier and plumper than before.

Lastly, lip balms on the other hand are dedicated to keep your lips puffy, kissable looking, and moisturized.

So there you have it. Lipsticks have more color and coverage for your lips. Lip glosses are more of a liquid type of lipstick that aims to make your lips look shinier and plumper. And lastly, lip balms primarily make your lips more moisturized than ever.

Now you know all the details, at least if anyone ever asks you about it, you can finally answer them with a confident look on your face instead of a couple shrugs here and there.
