From Mulawin to Darna, Lobo, La Luna Sangre, and now the General’s Daughter, Angel Locsin’s acting prowess is without a doubt beyond outstanding. The thirty four year old actress, commercial model, film producer and fashion designer’s long list of awards and nominations started in 2005 when she was named “Box Office Princess of Philippine Movies” at the Box Office Entertainment Awards and “World’s Sexiest Woman” by men’s magazine FHM. Her first international nomination was at the International Emmy Awards in 2009 when she was nominated as “Best Actress” for her television series “Lobo”. She won “Movie Actress of the Year” and “TV Queen at the Turn of the Millenium” at the PMPC Star Awards for Movie and Television, respectively.
Despite all these jewels in Angel’s crown, the multi-awarded actress remains humble and compassionate especially to her millions of fans. In fact, during the final promo tour of her most recent television drama series “The General’s Daughter” at Ayala Malls South Park in Alabang last September 28, thousands of fans of the action-drama queen went out to show their undying support to Angel – most of them wishing to at least get close to her. The crowd went wild as it reached the fourth floor atrium of the said mall and security personnel had to lift the actress in order for her to pass through. Despite the intensity of the crowd, Angel remained calm, graceful, and fresh together with the rest of the cast such as JC De Castro, Paulo Avelino, Loisa Andalio, Ryza Cenon, and Ronnie Alonte.
Angel expressed her most sincere gratitude to her fans who never failed to show support for “The General’s Daughter” from its debut until its last episode last October 4. The television action drama series was so successful to the point that in some nights, it was able to surpass the longest running and most famous action drama series in the history of Philippine television – “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano”.
Now that there’s only a few months left before Angel Locsin ties the knot with long time beau Niel Arce, Angel can finally focus on her wedding preps with the businessman and film producer. The multi-talented actress shared that she will take a rest for a few months and immediately return to work.
