Xian Lim has gone a long way from his roots in California. The thirty year old actor, model, host, singer, filmmaker and professional basketball player was born and raised in the United States. This handsome heartthrob’s entry to stardom started in 2011 when he first portrayed a lead role with current girlfriend, Kim Chiu. Over the years, Xian has been nominated and awarded by a number of award-giving bodies in the world of show business, including “Breakthrough Actor of the Year” and “Love team of the Year” awards at the Yahoo! OMG! Philippines Awards in 2012. In 2013, Xian received his first ever prestigious award at the 61st FAMAS Awards night – the “German Moreno Youth Achievement Award”.
Aside from his talent in acting, this celebrity cutie is also a professional basketball player. In fact, he was a basketball varsity scholar of the University of the East in Manila where he took his college degree. He is also playing for the team “Mandaluyong El Tigre” at the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League.
Xian entered the world of hosting in 2012. His first big break in his hosting career was in Binibining Pilipinas and Miss Grant International in Vietnam last 2017.
Despite his good looks and all these achievements below his belt, Xian has been reportedly bullied during his younger years. In fact, according to Abante Tonite, Xian revealed that at about twelve to fourteen years of age, his schoolmates would often make fun of him. A bully even took his money and mauled him. He also added that he kissed someone else’s shoe out of fear; and because he had no friends back then. Xian has been bullied more or less about ten times in middle school. This has resulted to him spending his lunch breaks in the comfort room where he usually ate his meals.
Despite all the cruel experiences, Xian was able to overcome his fears by engaging himself in basketball. Through this sport, he felt secure because he had team mates – allies who would always be there for him. This dark and shady past also provided Xian the courage to reach out to kids who are being bullied in school. He encouraged these kids to speak up and not tolerate these bullies.
